Poem for the people on AirAsia Flight QZ8501

I'm sure you've heard about the AirAsia flight from Surabaya to Singapore that went missing. I wrote this poem for those for the people on board that flight, and their family and friends.

Disappeared for more than a day
Would it help if we gathered to pray?
Where is god in the face of danger?
Is he still lying in the manger?
I beg you don't leave us like this
Please listen to our wish:

That from the plane they shall swim free
To find an island in the sea
That gentle sun will not scorch them red
Soft sand and straw they can use as beds
Fresh water they'll find in a valley
Fruit and fish to fill their bellies

With twigs and branches they light a fire
For help and rescue is their desire
Mentally they all stay strong
Satellites and radars will not be wrong
The depths of the sea we must probe
And remind ourselves to never lose hope
