Why you should disable Facebook's face recognition

What do you think of the use of Facebook's face recognition technology?

It can be useful but I think it can be creepy as well.

What happens if your neighbourhood creep takes a picture of you, uploads it to Facebook and uses face recognition technology to find out your name and everything else that you put on Facebook?

Here's how to disable the function.

1. Go to Account > Privacy Settings.
2. Click Customize Settings.
3. Click Edit Settings button beside "Suggest photos of me to friends".

4. Select Disabled from the drop-down list.

But don't put all your faith in the privacy settings. The best defence is to avoiding uploading too much information online.

Thank you for sharing this very useful info about FB. Great to know that there are many things that we need to opt-out instead of in.
