1000 abandoned, unloved and unwanted animals :(

1

I have a friend who had many cats. After he moved to a new place, there wasn't enough room in the house so he housed his cats at Pets Villa. He figured they would be happier there because they have more space to run around. He pays for their boarding and visited them often. It sounds vaguely like an old age home for pets, don't you think? When you're done playing with them, you pay someone to take care of them far away from where you live and convince yourself that it is in the pets' best interest.

(I have done my fair share of pet abandonment. I feel guilty about it. But I do think it was done in the pets' best interest!)

Pets Villa also houses abandoned and stray dogs and cats. Being a non-profit organisation, Pets Villa is supported by funds (both monetary and otherwise) from the public.

Pets Villa has made an urgent plea for donations. According to what they posted on their website www.animalloversleague.com, they currently owe a sum of $18,933.15. If this debt is not cleared by the end of May 2010, they have to shut down permanently and the animals will be left with nowhere to go. That's about 800 cats and 150 dogs with no roof over their heads and no food to eat :( Will they be put down?

Pets Villa will be holding a Flea Market to raise funds.
Or you can also donate directly to them (click here for details: www.animalloversleague.com).

All proceeds from the sales go towards keeping the animals alive and up-keeping Pets Villa.

Yu-Kym,

Abandoned animals are a problem in everywhere. The best thing anyone with a pet can do is get that pet spayed or neutered as soon as the animal is mature.

Animals procreate by instinct and wild populations from abandoned pets create a greater problem.

Remember abandoning a pet never in the pets best interest, only the human owners interest is served.

Brave post!

David
