Pedophilia - part 2

This is a follow on from my previous post, [Pedophilia - part 1].

Look at the answers from the test. You would notice that just because someone looks ugly doesn't make make him a pedo and vice versa. In fact, there's one very hot looking female pedo!

I don't quite agree that it's a crime for a 30 year old woman to sleep with an underaged teenager if he willingly did it. It's quite likely that he could have been attracted to her or even in love with her. In the case of the hot looking female pedo in the quiz, don't you think it's possible that the boy wanted to sleep with her? I don't deny that as an onlooker, it's easier to accuse the woman of being a sexual predator if she's old and ugly!

Having sex with a 16-year old is not a crime but having sex with a 14-year old is. Does a 2-year period make that much of a difference in how prepared a person is to make the decision to have sex?

I think back to the time when I was 14 and 16: there was no difference in my sexual awareness at 14 vs 16. Why are people under the age of 16 deemed incapable of deciding for themselves whether they want to have sex? In the past, most people were married before they were even 16 [read article]. Are people of the present less capable of making that decision?

Perhaps in olden days (and also in some societies now) it was the parents who made that decision for their pre-16 children to get married and have sex. Does this make it ok? Some parents marry their young children off to very old adults. I shudder at the thought of a young girl being raped by her old husband. Ironically, this is legal.

So if you're planning on sleeping with an underaged boy/girl, please do it the "legal" way by getting parental consent. I can imagine the hot-looking pedo woman asking the boy's father, "Excuse me, can I have sex with your son?" and he answers, "Yes, but only if you make it a 3-some."

No To Rape

I think pedophillia shouldn't be about consensual sex with a younger partner who has reached sexual maturity (menarch for girls and erection/wetdreams for boys). They are biologically ready for natural reproduction anyway. Rather, the term should be used to to describe sex with a young partner who has not reached sexual maturity. =) Now thats really taking advantage of the kid's "innocence".

I have the same view as you on consensual sex with a younger partner who has reached puberty.
The term pedophilia is commonly used to refer to sexual preferences towards minors. However, by definition,
Pedophilia is the sexual preference for prepubescent persons,
hebephilia is the sexual preference for pubescent persons,
ephebophilia is the sexual preference for mid-to-late adolescents (15-19 yrs old).

i agree- if the underage partner has reached sexual maturity and sex is consentual, it is ok in my opinion.

Legalities aside, another question is: are they ready to handle the possible consequences, e.g. pregnancy?
